These are pic's of my latest project.
The plan was downloaded from S/P two years ago. Since then I have found the book the plan came from. I have noticed the plan has been removed from S/P site, or maybe I'm not looking in the right place.
I would say these subs are not difficult to build. As you can see I opted to construct them out of mdf, with pine batons to strengthen the corners.
Yes, these are heavy ! I would recommend castors.
Couple of tips if you use mdf, use mdf screws, not standard. Drill the correct size pilot hole before fixing. Before final assembly, paint the entire cabinet with a thinned waterproof pva....
i have 2x Ciare 12.00 subs was my first post in the fsp forum, I got some geat advice talking to the guys here of many diffrent designs i could go for depending on what sound i was looking for, after emmming and arrrrring i decided what i would do was to maby build a few, see wat was best sort of thing give me somthing to focas on,,, so in the end for my first build i would go for the cubo 12" design plans free on site, i went with my nicest face and a bottle of scotch to see my father-in-law who runs a local woodwork shop and with my nices smile asked him for some offcuts... largish offcuts and a few of them,, fortunatly he was working on an arch way giving loads of offs , i left him with the plans and cutlist and staggered away merrily a few days later he came for dinner and unloaded a whole stack of wood he had got a trainee to cut up for him, first thing i noticed was it was all in 18mm oh i thought but smilled thanked him for the deed, i could not complain as they were all free, second thing was none of the sizes marryed up with the plans, so a jigsaw puzzle was on my hands, a few hours of diffrent configarations and i came up with something resembling the cubo 12 i got the glue and screws charged me drill and got to work........a couple of days into the build i remeberd to get the camra out......a few more went by an it was feady to finish. im abit ocd so wanted a nice finnish but im no wood work expert infact a compleat novice so this was going to be hard,, a week i was working on it untill it wasnt going to get better only make it worse so went with the best i could do with the tools and equipment i had to hand.... its now very nearly finished only the back to paint and a little spot inside i forgot to do before sealing it up but well am very pleased with my efforts first big ish build DIY project ive undertaken probaly since school and i loved it, realy happy.
